Cardinia Learning Partnership
The classes held in January/February 2008 as part of the Community Learning Partnership Program were Scrapbooking and Basic Computer, arising from the interest in these classes we now have two classes running on a weekly basis teaching English to a group of Brazilians living and working in the Pakenham area. The classes are held on Wednesday and Friday evenings for a beginners and an advanced group.
As their knowledge of English has improved there are now also classes in basic computing being held on these evenings.
All of these classes are held at U3A House which is centrally located in Pakenham and overcomes the transport problem for the learners.most of whom do not have their own transport
This has been a very logical progression for the project and we look forward to further classes to encourage new arrivals from overseas and other neighbourhoods to try these taster classes and eventually move into the other Adult Education opportunities in the area of Cardinia Shire
